Church in Hammerfest (69)

This is the church in Hammerfest. On my way back from Norway I had a short stop here as the first leg of my journey was with Hurtigruten and the ships always stop here. Unfortunately it was again Sunday (the last time I was coming back it was also Sunday!) so almost all the shops were closed, but on the other hand I probably wouldn't have taken so many pictures if they had been open;-)
This time I decided to travel with an old post ship - Nordstjernen. It sails along Norwegian cost only in winter time and it is really small and cosy. Unfortunately I only have photos of some details of the ship (it started snowing too hard when I was done which photographing Hammerfest and I didn't feel like staying outside anymore), but I will post one of them one of the next days together with some picture from one of the newest Hurtigruten ships - you'll definitely note the difference. This ship really has a style (even if it is difficult to capture it with a camera). The deck was extremely slippery!

My ancestors came form here. Many generations back about 8. Interesting for me to see.

I love that photo. Great lighting and the church is delightful. Much more attractive than most of the stuff they build here in the States.
